Regulated hydrophilic and hydrophobic character of two-component organosilica, localisation and amphoteric feature of surface hydroxyl groups, which are active centers of the specific adsorption, predetermines their sorption activity towards toxic substances of molecular and ionic nature in solution.
Quantitative characteristics of the influence of various factors, such as adsorbate concentration, time of attaining sorption equilibrium, sorbent composition, concentration of modifying component, medium pH on the sorption of nitrogen-containing organic substances (ammonia ions, uric acid, urea, creatinine) by organosilica sorbents and their forms modified by aluminium (III) in model biological solution have been obtained. Modification of organosilica by aluminium that leads to formation of fixed negatively charged sites of the surface, increases 2-5 times sorption of nitrogen-containing organic substances. Adsorbate nature influence in isotonic solution of sodium chloride by 10 times intensification of ammonia ions sorption with medium pH increase from 2 to 9 irrespectively of aluminium (III) content in sorbent, as well as in different shapes of adsoption isoterms: L type for ammonia ions and creatinine and S type for uric acid according to Giles classification. Additionally, this influence shows itself in increasing of the sorption on modified organosilica in the following range: urea
