Modification method of titanium dioxide is one of the perspective methods for increasing its photocatalytic activity in reactions of different technology wastewater pollutants destruction.

We synthesized the titanium dioxide samples with cations Co, Cr, Cu and Fe (0,2 % mass) inculcating to TiO2 lattice and also samples with Co and Cu ions on its surface. The cations were inculcated to the lattice during synthesis from the salt solutions using zol-gel technology. After synthesis the samples were calcined at 300° С, then carefully washed by water and dried at 200° С for 48 hours. The samples with Co were obtained by Co hydroxide precipitation on TiO2 surface particles with next thermal treatment at 300° С. Cu ions were drifted on TiO2 surface by sorption from copper acetate solutions. Specific surface was 50 – 150 m2/g.

The photocatalytic activity of samples was investigated in the test reaction of methylene blue (MB) decomposition in water solutions under solar light irradiation.

The preliminary investigations of MB sorption by studied samples showed, that it is insignificant (not more 15 % from issue dye content in solution).

Under irradiation of MB water solutions by solar light irradiation in the presence of TiO2 with inculcating to lattice cations it was founded that photocatalytic activity decreases in the row: ТіО2 (Cu @ Cr > Fe > Co).

The titanium dioxide samples, which content ions Co2+ and Cu2+ on its surface did not show the photocatalytic activity under solar light irradiation in spite of this cations have absorbency stripes in visible range of spectrum.
