It is well known, that oxides of transitional type metals with structure of shpinels /NiCo2O4/, perovskites, hard solutions use as catalyst for the reduction of oxygen. However a high cobalt cost partially limits using of NiO-CoO catalyst as cathodic material. Therefore, it is importantly to work out and to study new catalysts with low price and undeficient.

The gas contained in a coal bed is one of the essential factors in the phenomena of the outburst of gases and rocks. In this paper the results of the investigations on the high-pressure methane sorption and desorption on selected coals and application of the thermodynamic method to the description of the Continue Reading »

Effect Of The Synthesis Conditions

Effect of the synthesis conditions

Institute of Surface Chemistry of National Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Kiev, Ukraine, e-mail: borysenko@naverex.kiev.ua

The operational effectiveness of high disperse pyrogenic silicas as filling materials, thickeners and sorbents in many respects is determined by a degree of hydration of their surface.

The structure of hydrate-hydroxylic cover of pyrogenic silicas depends on condi Continue Reading »

It is known, that a function interrelations exist between quantities of two substances in a solution after their adsorption on the same adsorbent. For example, for collateral monolayer adsorption of two substances the equality is carried out:

q1 = 1 - (1 + 1/B2C2) q2 ,

where: q - surface coverage (q = Гi/Гmax), B2 - adsorptive constant of the Langmure isotherm, C Continue Reading »

Properties Of Surface Of Whiskers

PROPERTIES OF SURFACE OF WHISKERS

AND FIBRES OF SILICON CARBIDE IN WATER SOLUTIONS

V. G. Lutsenko

Institute of general and inorganic chemistry of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Kiev, Ukraine

Processes of purifying and sorting of whisker’s (W) SiC, manufacture of porous isotropic materials and deriving of homogeneous mixtures W SiC with ceramic powders are taking place in fluid mediums. In this connection the behaviour of crystals is determined by properties of their surface. Therefore in this research the electrosurface characteristics of W and fibres of silicon carbide in water so Continue Reading »
